Cross Boundary School Requests
Each year the school district requires students who live out of catchment to apply again to attend their current school. Forms are available from your school. Forms must be signed by principals at the current school and the ‘in catchment’ school and then taken to the School board office. They will be time and date stamped, and go on a list of students who wish to attend their preferred school. It is best to make your request early.
“Stress Free Home Reading” – A Parent Information Workshop
Stella Weinert of Salt Spring Island Literacy is partnering with Marie Mullen at Fulford School to offer a workshop for parents to learn how to support their children’s reading development. The aim of the workshop is to reduce the stress and increase the enjoyment of parents reading at home with their children. Information will be shared on current reading instruction and the strategies children are taught to use while reading. There will be opportunities for parents to ask specific questions or raise concerns around supporting their children’s reading. The workshop is scheduled for Monday, February 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fulford School library. Childcare will be available beginning at 6:15 p.m. If you are interested in attending the workshop, please register by calling the school: (653-9223) or emailing Marie Mullen.
